Activities for our Younger Members
Information for Parents / Guardians
- All children and parents / guardians must be members of TOTAL FITNESS.
- All children must complete a junior consent form when joining TOTAL FITNESS.
- It is the responsibility of the parents / guardians to inform TOTAL FITNESS if their children has any illnesses or injuries. It is also the responsibility of the parents or guardians to inform TOTAL FITNESS of any changes in their children's health.
- Before using the family workout zone, it is compulsory for all children to have an induction. A parent / guardian must attend this session.
- All staff that conduct or supervise a children's session on Total Fitness premises have completed a CRB (Criminal Record Bureau) check and signed the TOTAL FITNESS Child Protection Procedures and Guidelines Document.
- Either the Fitness Instructor conducting the class will be qualified in First Aid, and / or there will be a member of staff on shift who is qualified in First Aid.
Attending a children's activity -
- Both children and parents / guardians must swipe in at reception.
- The parents / guardians must stay on the premises for the full duration of the class / activity.
- The parents / guardians must escort their children to either the studio or pool where the activity is taking place.
- The parents / guardians must register their children with the instructor(s) conducting the class and fill out the Future Fitness Register in detail.
- All participants must bring a water bottle to the session and use the toilet prior to the session starting. TOTAL FITNESS instructors are unable to leave the class once your child has
been registered. If they need to use the bathroom, you will be called from your activity to take them.
- All participants will be asked to sit in a designated area and will be issued with a name sticker prior to the session starting.
- After the class, parents / guardians must collect (sign out) their children from the studio or pool. All incidents / injuries will be reported in line with TOTAL FITNESS Normal Operating Procedures. All minor incidents (e.g. a child falling in the class, bumping a head) will be reported to the parents / guardians on collection, with the parents / guardians signing to confirm this.
- Entry to all sessions will be at the discretion of the Instructor / TOTAL FITNESS. TOTAL FITNESS will inform parents / guardians if their children have been disruptive during a class.
- Children should attend the class in appropriate clothing (t-shirts, shorts, tracksuit bottoms, trainers).
- All children will be encouraged to take part in the activities.
- Maximum class size numbers for all sessions will be 16. There must be a minimum of 2 children for a class to take place. Classes will be cancelled where staffing requirements cannot be met.
